A;SA and Helpa.App are pleased to be working together to bring additional supports to families, educators and providers in South Africa.
HELPA is a real-world engagement app for special needs parents and providers.
HELPA connects families and caregivers with support providers to share their lived experiences and access the support they require when outside the therapy clinic.
- HELPA captures the moments and behaviours that matter in real time, and helps you share them with your network support providers
- HELPA extends the value of interventions and helps you connect with support providers in HD video when needed
- HELPA connects you with others that share lived experiences and helps you build a circle of care for you and your loved one
- HELPA provides you with evidence-informed tools and features for improved learning and insight
Stuart Kruger, founder of HELPA, first came up with the idea for after his son Tyson was diagnosed with severe autism five years ago.
“Shortly after Tyson’s diagnosis, we quickly learned there was an opportunity to create a comprehensive social care system that supports non-clinical carers such as families, siblings, friends, relatives and teachers.”
“There was no tool to map his journey and extend the value of Tyson’s care plans, and no way for us to easily share his health progress and information, our social experiences, and learnings.”
Mr Kruger went on to found HELPA and is now working with a number of Australian and New Zealand health partners and is involved in a Digital Health Research Centre, to bring informed tools to the HELPA community.
Along with these existing partners globally, A;SA is excited to be supporting this journey to help create social care systems where they’re needed most.
HELPA will be available in South Africa for download from the App Store + Google Play in February!
